Dear fellow Members,

By now, you will have received a copy by post of the Club’s 2015 Annual Report and Accounts and the formal notice convening the Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Thursday, 5 May at 6pm prompt. The AGM will deal with the usual business of approving the minutes of the 2015 AGM, adopting the Annual Report and confirming the appointment of the Club’s auditors.

Each year a total of six Members of your General Committee are obliged to stand down at this meeting, five of whom are eligible to stand for re-election. The updated notice of candidates will have been sent to Members once nominations for election closed on Thursday, 28 April.

Regrettably, the General Committee will lose the services of Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Steve Ushiyama this year, who will stand down from the GC as is custom The Club owes a debt of gratitude and thanks to Steve for his dedication and hard work to the General Committee and the Club over the past 11 years. Indeed, his wisdom and experience have always been welcomed on the various Sub-Committees on which he served.

Another important aspect of the AGM is to honour those esteemed Members who have held active membership of the Club for either 30 or 50 years. As is tradition, each Member present will be awarded with a commemorative lapel pin, and I hope you will join me in congratulating these Members on their remarkable achievement. Lastly, as I too will relinquish the Chairmanship of the Club at the AGM, I wish to record my thanks and gratitude to all the Members who supported the Club so well during my term in office, to those members of the General Committee and Sub- Committees for their advice and contribution, and to the Club management and all the team for their dedication.

I look forward to seeing many of you at this important event in the Club’s calendar and wish the Club and you as Members the very best in the future.
